Our 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Melbourne is for aspiring yoga teachers, as well as for dedicated students wanting to deepen their knowledge and experience of the practice.
At Light Space Yoga our vision is to bring yoga to everyone in a caring and inclusive way, with the deep wisdom and knowledge from the ancient Vedas and texts. And it is from a deep love of yoga and the benefits of the practice that we have developed our 200 hour yoga teacher training course that integrates the ancient teachings with a modern and authentic approach.
Whether you plan to teach yoga or have a desire to dive deeper into your own personal practice and learn more, our yoga teacher training has been designed to be an uplifting experience of wisdom, inspiration, and knowledge.
Our Yoga Alliance Internal Registry accredited course includes philosophy, asana, sequencing, pranayama, anatomy, ayurveda, prenatal yoga, and meditation.

In our comprehensive, immersive 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Melbourne you’ll live and breathe yoga, and learn from our most senior yoga teachers who bring more than 5,000 hours of training, and decades of teaching experience combined.
To graduate from the 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training you will complete:
- 7 face-to-face immersive weekends
- Online lectures watched in your own time
- Practical assessments
- Homework assignments on specific course content
- Final written examination
This course is fully accredited worldwide with Yoga Alliance International Registry.

THE DATES

Our course is part time over a 5-month period, with a hybrid of in-person weekend monthly immersions and online lectures. The training has been mindfully designed to fit with your life and other commitments, and includes:
- seven in-person weekends (Saturday and Sunday – 9am to 6.30pm);
- online lectures which are pre-recorded and are to be watched in your own time in preparation for the upcoming weekend immersions over the 5 month course; and
- at-home study, homework, and class tasks.

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
Our 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training course is for aspiring yoga teachers, as well as for dedicated students wanting to deepen their knowledge and experience of the practice. And previous graduates of this course have been both…certain they wish to be a qualified yoga teacher, and also those who have commenced with the knowing that they are embarking on this journey purely for their own personal growth and learning.
So whether you plan to teach yoga or have a desire to dive deeper into your own personal practice and learn more, our training has been designed to be an uplifting experience of wisdom, inspiration, and knowledge.

THE VENUE
The course will take place at ‘White Space Yoga’ in Camberwell.
ATTENDANCE
In order to receive your 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training certificate, you are required to be present for all sessions and yoga classes. If you do need to miss one session you may be able to make up the hours with homework but this is confirmed on a case by case basis and is not encouraged.
OUT OF CONTACT HOURS WORK
Each week you will receive homework and tasks. The estimated hours of study outside of the contact hours are approximately 2 hours per week, in addition to practicing at least one studio yoga class per week.

FAQs about the Yoga Teacher Training
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place in the training. If you need to cancel your enrolment, the following cancellation policy applies:
• 60 days or more before the course start date: You can choose to receive a 75% refund of course fees paid (excluding the $500 deposit), or transfer the full amount paid (excluding the deposit) to a future Light Space Yoga Teacher Training commencing within 18 months.
• 30–59 days before the course start date: You can choose to receive a 50% refund of course fees paid (excluding the $500 deposit), or transfer the full amount paid (excluding the deposit) to a future Light Space Yoga Teacher Training commencing within 18 months.
• Less than 30 days before the course start date: No refund is available, however the full amount paid (excluding the $500 deposit) can be transferred to a future Light Space Yoga Teacher Training commencing within 18 months.
How much experience do I need to do the 200-Hour teacher training?
A consistent yoga practice leading up to the course is recommended. But you do not need have an advanced asana practice, and we welcome students of all levels and all walks of life to join us for our yoga teacher training course. Your ability on the mat is not what matters, but rather your commitment to the course during the training to allow you to absorb as much as possible and to be consistent and dedicated in your approach. This is just the beginning of your journey, and we are there to support you every step of the way.
I love yoga, but I’m not sure if I want to teach yoga or just learn more about yoga?
That’s great! Our course has been designed for those who want to deepen their practice and immerse themselves in the wisdom of yoga, as well as for those students who wish to teach yoga.
Many of our past graduates applied for our training with no intention to teach and got so much out of the course from a personal perspective. Our 200hr training is perfect for those who want to delve deeper into the study of yoga, and to deepen their own practice and experience.
Will I Be Qualified to Teach Yoga Once I Complete the Course?
Yes! With the successful completion of all the requirements of the program, including contact hours, homework, practise and exams, you will receive your certificate of completion (with our course being accredited by Yoga Alliance International Registry).
What if I need to miss a lecture or a weekend?
In order to receive your 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training certificate, you are required to be present for all sessions. However we understand that life happens, and we are there to support you. If you do need to miss a session you may be able to make up the hours with homework (this is confirmed on a case-by-case basis). We also have a buddy system from day one of the course, so that you are supported with further notes and support.
Do I need to purchase anything else for the course?
There are 3 required texts that you need to purchase before the start of the course. These texts are generally available on Amazon, Book Depository, some bookshops (e.g. Theosophical Bookshop Russell Street Melbourne CBD).

What work do I need to do outside of the course hours?
At the end of each weekend immersion you will receive homework and tasks. The estimated hours of study outside of the contact hours are approximately 2 hours per week, in addition to practicing at least one in-studio yoga class per week.
I’m worried that I’m not flexible enough, or that I can’t do advanced yoga poses.
You don’t need to worry! Yoga is not about standing on your head or touching your toes. But we understand that it can be nerve-racking to embark on a training like this.
You don’t need to be flexible, strong, or have an advanced yoga practice. You just need to have a desire to learn and immerse yourself in yoga.
