For now (and hopefully not for too long), the maximum number of students that we can have in any class is 10. In each studio, we have reduced the number of the little white dots on the studio floor, and repositioned them, to create nice spacing between each of the mats.
Do I need to book to attend a class in the studios?
Given the changes to our class capacity, it is now essential that you book into our classes via MindBody. There will be no walk ins at this time.
Bookings will open 7 days in advance.
We are not currently restricting how many classes per week can be booked. We just ask that you be mindful of your fellow yogis, and please only book into classes that you know you can attend. This is very important so that everyone has the opportunity to practice.
You will receive a confirmation email upon booking. You will also receive a reminder email 24 hours before the class.
If you are unable to attend please cancel within 3 hours of the class start time via MindBody so that your place can be made available to others. Cancellations cannot be made over phone or email.
If you are added to a class waitlist, you will be notified via email if a spot becomes available.
Please check your email junk/spam/clutter folders if you don’t receive an email.
Thank you for your understanding as we navigate the best way forward during these unprecedented times.
How do I book into a class on the MindBody website?
You can book into a class via our MindBody site, which you can access by clicking here (or by clicking the ‘My Account’ button in the top right hand corner of our website or in the dropdown menu on mobile devices).
You will then need to enter your email address and your password, where provided, to log into your MindBody account. Once you have logged in, simply locate the class that you would like to book and click the ‘Sign Up Now’ button.
If you have forgotten your password, please click the ‘Need new password?’ link in MindBody, and you will be able to quickly and easily reset your password.
How do I book into a class on the MindBody app?
You can download the MindBody App in the App Store or Google Play Store. Once downloaded onto your phone or device, then you can also book into classes by searching for ‘Light Space Yoga’, locating your class and clicking the ‘Book’ button.
It’s important that, if you download the MindBody App, you must use the same email address to sign into the MindBody app that you used when you initially registered as a new student with Light Space Yoga. This will ensure that when you book into a class, your existing pass with us is recognised. This is really important, so we hope this makes sense.
What health and hygiene practices to you currently have in place?
The health and wellbeing of our community is our priority and we want to assure you that we have heightened our cleaning routines at all of the studios to make sure they remain clean, fresh and welcoming for all of you. Additionally, here are some of the steps that we will continue to take at the studios during this period:
In-and-Out Policy: We know that our spaces have been a home away from home for many of you over the years and in time it will be that again, however for now upon reopening we will be maintaining a strict ‘in-and-out’ policy.
Mats: Please make sure that you bring your own mat to class with you. For now, we will not be allowing the sharing of yoga mats at the studio. If you don’t have a mat, we ask that you purchase one before attending class. Lululemon, Target, Kmart, or even your local $2 shop have yoga mats at a range of prices. We will also be stocking a number of mats at each of our studios if you’d like to purchase one from us.
Hand Sanitiser: We ask that you please continue to use the hand sanitiser on the desk as you sign-in for class, and wash your hands when you leave the studio.
Props: We have removed all props including blocks, straps, bolsters and blankets from the studios during this time. Our incredible teachers are creating sequences that do not rely on the use of props. You are welcome to bring your own props though such as a cushion, bolster, a blanket, or a wrap.
Cups: We have removed all cups from the studio. Please bring your own cup or water bottle if you would like a drip before or after class.
Adjustments / Assists: For now, there will be no adjustments by the teachers in class.
Cleaning: We will continue to be extra diligent with cleaning the studio and disinfecting surfaces and handles.
Feeling Unwell: If you feel sick or unwell (including if you have a fever, cough or flu-like symptoms), please stay home and perhaps join one of our Online Classes. We have now built a series of classes that are specifically designed for students who are feeling ‘under the weather’ (which you can find in the Class Library of the Online Studio within the ‘Series’ folder). Please rest up, look after yourself and please stay out of the studios when you’re not feeling well.

When does my 28 days start on my introductory offer?
Our introductory offer for new students includes 28 days of unlimited yoga at all of our 3 studios for only $28 – or $24 if you purchase on our website! Your 28 days starts from your first class in the studio, and not from the date of your purchase.
What does ‘unlimited yoga’ mean?
Our introductory offer is for 28 days of unlimited yoga. This means that, from the date of your first class with us, you can attend as many classes as you like at all of our studios and online over the next 28 day period.
Similarly, our Unlimited Membership allows you to attend as many classes as you like at all 3 of our studios plus our Online Studio during the period of your membership.
I’ve never done yoga before, which class should I attend?
We have lots of beginners who start with us at the studio. All of our classes are suitable for beginner students, and all of our teachers are experienced in offering modifications of different poses for new students, and more advance modifications or progressions for those with more experience.
However, we find that most new students prefer to start with our Basics, Slow Flow and Yin Classes, which are all slower paced than our Vinyasa Classes.
The Basics Classes are a really nice place to start. Those classes run on a 4 week cycle, and break down the fundamental and core poses in our yoga practice. You can start anywhere in the cycle, so you don’t have to wait for week one.
Because our Introductory Offer is for 28 days of unlimited yoga, you can get to each of the four different Basics Classes during your Introductory Offer which will give you a great base for your yoga practice.
You can find a more information on the different class styles here.
Do I need to bring a yoga mat?
Yes, during this time, please make sure that you bring your own mat to class with you.
What do I need to bring?
You should wear light and fitted clothes, and during this time please also bring a water bottle and a yoga mat. You are also welcome to bring any props with you such as a blanket, block, cushion, etc.
What happens after my introductory 28 days is finished?
After you finish your 28 day introductory offer there is no further commitment. If you enjoy your 28 days and wish to continue practicing at the studio, you have a few options. You can attend casually, purchase a 10 class pass, or become an Unlimited Member.
If you intend to practice once per week or more, we recommend the Unlimited Membership for $30 per week as the best value. As an Unlimited Member you can attend as many classes as you like in the studios, PLUS you receive complimentary access to our Online Studio and App.
If you intend to practice once per week or less, we recommend our 10 class pass which gives you 10 classes that can be used over a 3 month period.
Can I attend all studios?
Yes, all of our passes and memberships can be used at of Balwyn, Mitcham and Ivanhoe studios.
What is your minimum age to attend the studio?
Our minimum age to practise yoga is 13 years old. For students who are under 18 years old, we require parents to complete and sign their child’s registration form, and be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
I’m pregnant and haven’t done much yoga before. When can I start attending class, and can I attend general classes?
With your doctor’s ok and post 13-weeks, we recommend that you attend our prenatal classes and not our general timetabled classes. You can attend the prenatal classes casually or purchase the 6 week class-pass. The prenatal course is a rolling course and you can start on any Sunday that suits you.
Can I bring my mobile phone onto the mat with me?
The studios are a mobile-free zone and we ask that you leave your mobile phone in your bag in the reception area (switched off).
Do you offer hot yoga?
Our classes are not Hot Yoga classes. Our studios are warmed to about 24 degrees which is a comfortable and pleasant temperature.
Where is the best place to park?
There is lots of car parking around each of the studios. Click here to view our recommendations and tips.
Can I suspend my unlimited membership?
Yes, you may suspend your Unlimited Membership for a minimum period of 2 weeks at any time, and the maximum period that you may suspend in any 12 month period is 12 weeks. We ask that you request your suspensions at least 7 days before the suspension period starts, and that each suspension is for a period of a set number of weeks (i.e. 2 weeks, 3 weeks, etc). We also ask that all account balances are brought up to date before your suspension period starts.
