What International Yoga Day Means To Us!

Every year, International Yoga Day offers a special moment to pause, breathe, and reflect on the practice that brings so many of us together. For our team of yoga teachers, it’s more than a date on the calendar – it’s a celebration of connection, community, and the transformative power of yoga. From quiet moments on the mat to shared energy in the studio, this day reminds us why we teach, why we practice, and why yoga continues to be a guiding light in our lives.

Here’s a little from the LSY team about what International Yoga Day means to them…

International Yoga Day, to me, is an opportunity to express gratitude and respect for this ancient practice, passed down through thousands of years. It continues to amaze me with its timeless relevance and its profound ability to support and transform our fast-paced, modern lives. It’s also a day to pause, reflect, and honour the deep wisdom, history, and tradition at the heart of yoga… ~ Clare

For me, international Day of Yoga is a day to recognise the wholistic benefits of yoga to my whole life. As a practitioner of yoga for many many decades I can only be grateful for finding this incredible practice so long ago, that has enhanced my physical, mental and emotional well being… ~ Susan

International yoga Day is a beautiful reminder that we’re all connected, no matter where we come from. It’s a chance to celebrate unity, kindness, and the shared journey we’re all on – one breath, one heart at a time… ~ Mimi

I love International Yoga Day because it’s a reminder of how many yogis practice this amazing, ancient tradition across the world each and everyday. Yoga has transformed lives for thousands of years, and will continue to do so for thousands of years to come. It’s a magical practice that enables us to become better versions of ourselves, and it teaches us how to connect with others in meaningful ways that defy language. Yoga is simply the best & I hope I can continue practicing it until the day I die… ~ Ben

It’s a day to acknowledge how special yoga is to me. Not only on a physical level, but how yoga has supported my mental health journey for over 20 years. Internal Yoga Day, is a day to be thankful that yoga is a part of my life’s journey… ~ Kristie

To me, International Yoga Day is more than just a date on the calendar—it’s a collective pause, a moment when people across the world connect through breath, movement, and stillness… ~ Kelvin

As a yoga teacher, International Yoga Day is a beautiful moment to pause and celebrate the path of teaching, sharing, and growing through this ancient practice. It is a reminder of why I stepped into this role — to help others find space within themselves, to breathe through discomfort, and to build quiet strength, both physically and mentally… ~ Grace

International Yoga Day to me, is a reminder of the deep roots and rich history behind the yoga tradition. It’s a moment to pause and appreciate the community of yogis we get to move, breathe, and grow with every time we step onto the mat. It’s also about the personal journey — how our practice quietly shapes us over time, both on and off the mat, simply through our commitment to keep showing up… ~ Bobby

Let’s come together to honour the practice that grounds us, uplifts us, and connects us – on and off the mat. Join us in the studio this International Day of Yoga and be part of something truly special 💛
