Setting Up Your Home Studio

We want to help make your at-home yoga classes as nurturing and as enjoyable as possible. And if you’re like us, you like beautiful spaces, scents, the right lighting, and good tunes. So here are our tips for creating a little sanctuary in your own home.

  • Find a quiet space

    • You don’t need a whole room dedicated to your yoga space, but it is helpful to find a space in your home where you won’t be disturbed and that feels like ‘your space’.

  • Lighting and Scent

    • Dim the lights, and maybe even light your favourite candle
    • A diffuser is wonderful for filling your space with the scent of calm and peace. We love lemongrass essential oil to freshen and uplift, and lavender essential oil in the evenings to help quieten the mind and calm the senses.

  • Yoga Mat

    • Our fave yoga mats are lululemon, Jade Mat
    • You can also buy cheaper yoga mats from Kmart, Target and Big W.

  • Yoga Block

    • If you don’t have your own yoga block, a great substitute is some thick books or even some cans from your pantry.
    • If you’d like to purchase a yoga block, we can recommend Stretch Now

    • If you want to get creative at home, a couple of dense cushions or pillows will work well too.

  • Yoga Strap

    • A belt or scarf is the perfect substitute to a yoga straps and will work perfectly to support your practice.
